Since 1995, Expertise Engineering has evolved from general product design into a full- service hardware engineering firm specializing in rapid innovation. Our team of 15 engineers —mechanical, electrical, and firmware—brings deep expertise across the complete product
lifecycle, from initial concept through production support.
We work with both startups and Fortune 500 companies. Startups use us for rapid prototyping and full development. Corporations partner with us as their external innovation team—a skunkworks that operates outside bureaucracy to validate new concepts fast.
Based in San Diego with 7,000 square feet of engineering and prototyping space, over 50% of our work is medical devices (ISO 13485 certified), with the rest spanning IoT, consumer electronics, and industrial equipment. Our in-house machinist and manufacturing experience means we design products that actually get made—not just pretty CAD files.
Many engineering firms stop at design. We don't. Our team includes industrial designers who understand ergonomics and user experience, tooling engineers who design injection molds and fixtures, and manufacturing support specialists who help you scale from prototype to
production.
